Every stretch of highway started to feel different. Every vibration timed like he was reading me without looking. It stopped being random. It started feeling intentional, like he knew exactly when to push, when to hold back, when to leave me waiting.

At home, there's predictability. A rhythm you know.

Out here, there was none of that.

 

Just motion. Distance. And the space between us filled with something only we could feel.
