Velvo's Second Chance Was Worth the Wait

Velvo gave her the textured experience she had been hoping for. In this review, she explores the sensation of its rotating beads and shares what happened when she synced it with her partner's toy for a more connected experience.

I did not expect this to turn into an 80s movie moment... but here we are.

I was excited when Velvo first appeared as a limited beta release, and I ordered it right away knowing it was still being tested. On the day it arrived, I learned through the app that the original beta version was being discontinued before I had the chance to properly try it. It was a disappointing moment because I had been looking forward to the experience. I had also been waiting for Lovense to release something with more texture for years. Thankfully, the team worked through the early issues and later released an improved Velvo, so I finally got the experience I had been hoping for.

When I first held it, I noticed its solid weight and the slightly thicker shaft compared with Nora. The girth stays consistent along its length, while the tip is more tapered and the external arm is longer and slimmer. The usable length feels comparable to Nora, but the rotating beads give Velvo a character of its own. I especially like that they can rotate in either direction. A satin storage bag would make it even easier to keep Velvo with the rest of my collection.

With rotating beads, the amount of lube made a difference. Enough kept everything comfortable, while using a little less made the texture easier for me to feel. The rotation felt best when I held Velvo still and let the beads do the work. I honestly could not always tell when they changed direction because I was too immersed in the sensation. I will have to pay closer attention next time. LOL

It was fun synchronizing Velvo with my partner's Gush 2 Motion and Max 2. He loved how strong the vibrations felt and how they changed with my speed. He said the synced sensation felt equally good whether I used Velvo or Nora. The battery lasted for more than two hours during our test. The handle became slightly warm after extended use at 100% intensity, which made sense for such a long, powerful session; even better heat management in a future version would still be welcome. We tried both local and long-distance sync with other toys in our collection and ended up giggling the evening away.

I would recommend Velvo to anyone looking for a more textured kind of stimulation. Check the size and features against the toys you already enjoy, then get ready for some pinkalicious beaded pleasure.
